About
The purpose of the documentation center is to build up and disseminate a body of references on contemporary music, on the relationship between art, science and technology, and on musical research. It also brings together all of the Institute's knowledge and creative resources: concert and conference archives, scores, scientific and popular articles, etc. All these resources are available to the public through the Ircam media library (open Tuesday to Friday, 2:00 to 5:30 pm) and the databases accessible through the portal.

Multimedia library
The IRCAM Media Library is open to the public Tuesday to Friday, from 2.00 pm to 5.30 pm. Anyone may browse the collection; however, only members may borrow items.
Structure of the databases
- a database of contemporary composers’ lives and works, formally known as BRAHMS (the Relational Database of Hypertext Articles on 20th- and 21st-Century Music).
- Analyses a database of musicological articles that document works composed at IRCAM;
- Médias a database of IRCAM’s audiovisual archives;
- Sidney a database that brings together documentation on electronic works produced at IRCAM, with a view to their future performance.
