As part of the exhibition Brion Gysin. Le dernier musée at the musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris.
Brion Gysin’s sound poems occupy a singular place, at the crossroads of the literary field, visual arts, and electroacoustic music. This session takes the form of a “listening game”. Three researchers will each present a “machine poem,” in counterpoint to the Centre Pompidou construction site, recorded by the artist in 1977. Ramuntcho Matta will play his composition The Door, to which Brion Gysin lends his voice, alongside the saxophone of Steve Lacy. Finally, Oana Avasilichioaei will give an original performance, Weather is cut out, un écho est recomposé.
Weather is cut out, un écho est recomposé is a performance for six speakers. The recording is rendered in stereo.
