This seminar focuses on technical knowledge developed in a non-literate context, particularly musical knowledge in the field of ethnomusicology. By ‘modelling’ we mean, in the broadest sense, the study of the principles of coherence that organise this knowledge and determine its implicit logic. The central question is to what extent this logic is conscious to experts in the relevant fields. This seminar reports, among other things, on the research of the European ERC REACH 2020-2025 project.
