Zefir (zephyr) means “north wind”. It has two main sections. First part is more free, improvisatory, and, based on tetrachords which derived from Turkish makams. Last section is based on divided strings and more rhythmical. Here, I wanted to built a tension by extended the scale chromatically an with an orchestral crescendo and plus tried to create an echo and streo type effect through instruments. I am interested to see how the listener’s perception of music will be especially for the last section. Overall the piece, I intented to create microtonal effect without retuning the instruments.
