In the music of Phivos-Angelos Kollias, the human element is of central significance. His music are influenced by different art forms and the sciences. He was born in 1982, in Rhodes, Greece, where he started his education in music. He then continued his studies in England (APU, Cambridge & City, London) and France (Paris VIII & Conservatoire de Boulogne) with the support of three scholarships (Athens Concert Hall, Leventis Foundation, Greek Composers Union). He has studied composition with H. Vaggione, J. L. Hervé, J. M. López López, R. Hoadley and R. Samuel. He has also taken master classes from H. Lachenmann, G. Aperghis, B. Furrer, T. Murail, A. Hölszky, L. Naón and A. Di Scipio. His works have been performed in more than twenty countries and he has received many commissions. His music has received several awards and nominations in ten different competitions worldwide (Verdi, SiRAR, InNova etc). None
